Getting to Reclaiming Our Heritage 2008
Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center (Map)
5000 W. National Ave.
Milwaukee
Under the best conditions:
I-94 Exit 308A (Eastbound and Westbound).
Note: Eastbound exit is from the left lane.
Recommended Routes
Alerts: I-94 may be congested due to Miller Park traffic. We suggest the routes listed below as an alternate means of entering the VA grounds from the south entrance on National Avenue. Access to the north end of the grounds will be restricted prior to the Positively Patriotic Parade on Saturday morning.
There is a May 31(Saturday) evening Brewers game starting at 6 pm
and a June 1st (Sunday) game at 1 pm!
Parking in the VA neighborhood will be at a premium. Traffic on I-94 East and West bound may also be slowed/stalled by Miller Park traffic AND an event at the Milwaukee Mile (State Fair Park). CEMETERY-BY-LANTERN TICKET HOLDERS ARE ADVISED TO STAY ON THE GROUNDS after the event closes to the general public. If this is not possible for you, we strongly advise that you plan on returning to the grounds well in advance of your scheduled tram time USING NATIONAL AVENUE ENTRANCES. After 5:30 p.m., you will be able to drive through the grounds to get to the parking areas on the north end of the grounds, closer to the Cemetery Tours starting/ending point.
Food and entertainment will be available in the Food Tent and Old Main throughout the evening of June 1.
